Samepage Service Update

As you may recall Paylocity acquired Samepage in November 2020. Since then our entire team has been integrated into Paylocity and is working on creating the most modern, next generation employee engagement and team collaboration platform. We are very excited about the future and the opportunity to bring Samepage functionality to Paylocity’s 28,000+ clients. We also look forward to introducing Paylocity’s industry leading HCM solutions to our Samepage customers.

As we progress in this effort, we have had to make some difficult decisions regarding the Samepage service. Paylocity focuses entirely on the US market. After much consideration, we have decided to stop providing the Samepage service to our non-US customers and users. We recognize this will be disruptive to your business and have set a schedule that will allow our affected users to find and switch to alternative products, as well as be provided the ability to export an archive of your data in Samepage. Please continue reading for specific details.

What happens to my organization account and when?

Depending on where your organization is located and what type of subscription you’re using, we’re outlining several paths.

We’ve sent an email to all organization admins on August 18 with what we assume is your organization’s location.  If you believe we have wrongly assessed your country, don’t hesitate to contact support@samepage.io.

Important dates:

September 1, 2021
We will start converting All Pro, Standard, and Non-Profit yearly paid accounts to monthly paid.

December 31, 2021
All non-US based Free accounts will be discontinued.

May 31, 2022
All non-US based Pro, Standard, and Non-Profit accounts will be discontinued.

US based free and paid accounts service continues beyond May 31, 2022.

US Based Pro, Standard and Non-Profit Accounts

Paylocity intends to continue supporting our existing US-based Pro, Standard, and Non-Profit paid account customers. We intend to eventually provide a migration path from Samepage to our future employee engagement and team collaboration platform. While we remain committed to fixing bugs in Samepage and keeping the service running as you’ve come to expect from us, we do not intend to continue the active development of the Samepage service.

Our development focus is entirely dedicated to the new platform. To support every customer appropriately, we have decided to move every paid account to a monthly plan as of September 1.

  • If you are currently on a monthly plan, there is nothing you need to do.
  • If you are on an annual subscription, when your account comes up for renewal after August 31, it will automatically convert to a monthly plan (don’t worry, your annual discount will still apply). Your account will then be billed monthly. You will still be able to add or remove paid users, and you will be able to cancel anytime if you so choose.

US Based Free Accounts

Paylocity intends to continue supporting our existing Free (freemium) accounts as well. In order to simplify administration and support of the Samepage service, it is no longer possible to upgrade to a paid Pro or Standard account.

You may continue to use and enjoy the Samepage service.

Non-US Based Pro, Standard and Non-Profit Accounts

Paylocity and Samepage want to thank you very much for your business over the years. You have been a part of our journey and success, and we recognize that ending the Samepage service for you will be disruptive to your business. Our goal is to help make your transition as comfortable as possible.

As with the US based paid accounts, starting from September 1, if you are on an annual subscription when your account comes up for renewal it will be converted to a monthly plan, retaining your annual discounts.

On May 31, 2022, your Samepage service will be discontinued. All current monthly plans will also be discontinued on May 31, 2022. If you are currently on an annual plan that renewed in June, July or August of 2021, your service will continue until the end of your annual contract. If you would like to cancel early, please feel free to contact us at support@samepage.io, and we will assist you.

Non-US Based Free Accounts

Paylocity and Samepage also want to thank you very much for your use of Samepage over the years. You too have been a part of our journey and success and we recognize that ending the Samepage service for you may be disruptive to your business. Our goal is to help make your transition as comfortable as possible.

You will also be able to download an archive of all of your Samepage data when your service is discontinued. You may, of course, discontinue at any time. All non-US based Free accounts will have their service discontinued as of December 31, 2021.

Your Samepage Data Archive

We have developed an export functionality that will enable all Samepage users to download an archive of your Samepage data. Rest assured your data belongs to you, and we intend to provide you with an archive of your data when your service is discontinued.

Data Archive Format

The export will include all of the content in your organization including chats, tasks, events, Samepage documents, etc. The export will be hardcoded HTML and therefore will not be something you may edit after downloading. The export will provide links to all images and files. For the most part images, once the link is clicked, will be opened for viewing. If the link to a file is clicked then the file will be downloaded to your local system.

Make sure you're using the latest version of Samepage

In March 2020 we’ve updated the user experience where we changed teams into folders.

If your organization is still on the “teams” experience you need to convert to folders first:

  1. You need to be logged in as an admin
  2. Click Home in the left navigation.
  3. Click on the settings wheel next to your organization name and select organization settings
  4. Click “Convert organization to the new Samepage ‘Folders’ environment” in the lower section of the dialog and follow the steps

Where I can find the export?

  1. You need to be logged in as an admin via our desktop app to export your organization’s data.
  2. Click on the settings wheel next to your organization name in the upper left corner of the app.
  3. Select “Export” in the settings menu. 

How to export?

In the Export dialog, you will have to re-enter your password and select an output folder to download the export. Then click “Start Export.”
