Creating Tasks

Overview

Samepage gives you the flexibility to manage tasks in a way that suits your workflow. You can create, view, and manage tasks in multiple ways. You can create tasks in Task Boards, on Documents and in My Agenda.

Task Boards (also known as Kanban boards)  are visual representations of tasks in a column view which provide a dashboard for users of all tasks belonging to a particular element. See our help article on Task Boards for more detail about the Task Boards and how to create tasks on the Task Board.

Page, Sheet and Mindmaps are Document types in Samepage that allow you to create associated tasks along with the other content in the Document. Documents are collaborative canvases that you can use to centralize information about projects, financial information, brainstorming ideas, etc. They can host conversations, files, tasks, events, images and many other assets all in one space together. Se our help article on Create a Document for more detail about Documents.

My Agenda is your private space to view your tasks and events across all of the Folders where you have access and you can create tasks and events that don’t belong to any particular Folder. You can also choose to filter and sort your tasks in many ways.

Adding checklists, bullet lists, & numbered lists to a task

The “Details…” section of a task can be used to create structured lists.

Checklist

Simply click to edit the “Details…” section of the task, type brackets like this [], hit the spacebar, and type a title. Hit Enter and you’ll see a clickable checkbox appear next to your new sub-task. Repeat the process to add multiple sub-tasks.

Bullet List

Start by typing the asterisk symbol, a space, and a title. Upon hitting Enter, the asterisk will convert to a proper bullet point and the next line in the list will have one too.

Numbered List

Start by typing 1, a period, a space, and a title. Hit Enter and it’ll kick into numbered list mode, creating a second line, starting with 2.
